nissen hut

Nissen hut: was invented and built as housing for troops in WW1, The Great War. Due to its semicircular, corrugated iron shape the Nissen Hut deflected shrapnel and bomb blast making it a perfect bomb shelter. After the war Nissen Hut was used as pre-fab housing.

However, the old Nissen Hut can not adopt the complexity of modern living. This design concept addressing many related problem by introduceing new planning, technical and spatial arrangement. Such as clarify function of room arrangement by having utility room on one side and living space in another. A nice timber walkway straight through the building connect all space together. A spacious central courtyards recreation was created in between living room and bedrooms which opened up to backyard and great mountain and ocean view to south of the property. Big long timber stair invites residence into the house and out to the backyard.
